Overview

Index Libro Inc. (“Index”, “we”) provides AI-native accounting software for Canadian businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

What we collect

Account information (name, email, business details), financial data you connect or upload (bank transactions, invoices, receipts, payroll records), and usage data that helps us improve the product. We collect only what we need to operate the service.

How we use it

To provide the service: classifying transactions, generating reports, and powering the Index AI assistant. Your financial data is used to serve you — we do not sell personal information, and we do not use your books to train models shared across customers.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal). Some subprocessors (e.g. AI model providers, payment processing) may process data outside Canada under contractual safeguards; a current subprocessor list is available on request.

Retention

Canadian tax law requires businesses to retain records for six years. We retain your accounting records accordingly while your account is active, and you can export everything at any time. After account deletion, data is removed per our retention schedule except where law requires longer.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or export your personal information, and withdraw consent where applicable. Contact our privacy officer at hello@indexlibro.ai. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
